David Palmquist

David is Executive Director of ESCOT, Incorporated, the Executive Service Corps of the Tri-Cities. He retired from the New York State Museum in June 2011 where he had been manager of Public History Programs and, previously, for 17 years, head of Museum Chartering. Prior to that he served the New York State Archives as manager of its nine regional offices providing records management services to 4,300 local governments. Before moving to New York State in 1990, he served as City Historian and City Records Manager for Bridgeport, Connecticut. He currently is an adjunct professor at the University at Albany/SUNY where he has taught a graduate course on museum management for the past 13 years. He holds master’s degrees in history and library science, and is a Syracuse undergraduate. He lives in the village of Kinderhook with his wife, Rosemary. They have three grown children and two grandchildren.
